the so called school life of mine!

im getting ready for my next module. i know its going to be tough next week. they have us downloaded the language were using. good thing the software plays on all platform. working on C++ was never easy but as the days goes on i find it cool. refreshing my university days makes me reminisce how hard is it to say hello world in perl. im not that inclined to perl  or some other family of high-level, general-purpose, interpreted, dynamic programming languages but i love java. clearly speaking i am more on the IT mode nowadays.

as i have told you in my previous post most of my classmates are boys and far much older and smarter than me.
i work hard and exert extra effort for me not to be left behind
i love going to this kind of modular training's because i get to see the world infront of me.
although sometimes the environment is boring but getting in this class is not everybody's privilege.
gathering around the training venue is one of my most favorite part. not because i will get to see my classmates or my crush but i get to see the latest gadget in front of me. i mean glorious gadgets which means from the worlds fastest notebook...
 to the worlds priciest netbook
and up to the worlds smallest netbook
that i can never get my eyes off those machines although im using a touchscreen but i really like those little gadgets
Training duration's usually ends every 7th day and during this time, we experience physical development, emotions, friendships, relationships, and especially constant knowledge. Happiness, sadness and other emotions, or even love sick, we all can find it there. That's why this school life of mine is one of the best moments of my life. It is different from university life and adult life, very different!
usually we stay in a hotel room enough to occupy three people
this is how it looks like with wifi, tv, aircon, hot shower and bath and the smell is so good
 sometimes we stay very late
that sometimes when it so cold and youre sleepy you cant even restore the gadgets properly. we cant go shopping either. we do them on the last day.
 we ate a lot...that's basic!
and drink a lot too :)
for every modules its your own prerogative as how are you going to make it through the day. as for me i cant go without my droids.
i play before i sleep that makes me alive!
we start our day before the sun goes up
and usually end them three hours after the sun sets down
you will never know how much we learned from this people and environment and i really love it here
This is my school life!
I love it because its above different :)

mayor evelyn yu

it was during my elementary years when I first saw you in our house. With whatever reasons why you were there, I don’t feel like remembering. What I clearly recall is that my mom said you are the chief executive..I should behave accordingly. That’s the rule of the universe. We gave high respect to the chief executive. I was very afraid of you then. I named you as the dragon lady. Seeing your name even in the tarpaulin makes me anxious that I don’t like to read what the tarp is saying.

From then on, each time I saw you on social events and have the chance of talking to you I opt to refrain myself for the fear of losing my intellectual capacity because my mom told me you are smart.
Then I graduated from college had my university diploma and units of masteral from the university you highly praised of I got the chance to work with you. And the rest is the story I will forever treasure.

Each year that passed my mind and my heart becomes at ease with you. I stammered sometimes and forgot the lines at once but knowing that you are this cool and kind that I can say anything to you and be comfortable enough to call your cp and have the courage to talk to you personally I had replace your name from the dragon lady to my gorgeous boss.

For the last five years I look highly of you. I adore you. On how you manage your life, your home, your family, and this office. You are indeed the greatest captain of this ship.

Well I guess a lot of people who will read this will agree with me that even those who don’t like you will also tell that on the back of their minds evelyn yu has done a great part of what is Calabanga right now. I saw how hard you work for this local government. The nights you have to stay awake to oversee everything especially during typhoon season, how well you manage the government financial operations, gazillions of seminars and meetings attended, the millions of development projects you brought for the 3 consecutive terms, numerous numbers of collaborations and partnership locally and internationally that opened doors for great opportunities in accomplishing and achieving more than what the government could have afford. On how well you implemented the programs, projects and activities of the LGU, we owe all that to you. After all you wouldn’t be marked as the multi-awarded chief executive if you were not. I know you have bashers but we don’t care about them right? don’t worry it goes with the saying that we can’t gratify everybody.
the only picture i have with mayor yu :)
When you give me the Book of Abundance with Pido’s signature (how did you manage Pido's autograph?), you constantly say that from now on we should live with of what the book  says and always think positively in everything we do. We have no rooms for no’s and maybe.

With you I learned to be tough. To have a mindset. To stay focus. I was always terrified each time you asked us to prepare for the script and presentation that I have to talk to the computer literally not to crush because in no time you will return and ask for the final draft. That sometimes when you are waiting for the script and presentations to be done I was always deflated and only think of you that I can’t even accept calls and text but what a relief each time we make all your request on time.

You told me that no matter how hard the week will be I have to make it through with flying colors. No matter how many people think negatively of you today won’t even strike even a bit in me. What matters to me and the thousands of people who knew, love and believe in you is that you have successfully proved what does it takes to be the very best. In my mind and in my heart you are the best mayor calabanga ever had.

Indeed public service is a noble and fulfilling task. It was your ultimate goal to serve the people and ensure excellent governance. Having been given the mandate to fulfill the responsibility is both an honor and privilege. It was a dream accomplished, a promise fulfilled. Guided by the various policies, thrusts and programs, you were able to chart the roadmap towards this goal and indeed, you have achieved such goal. Though these policies have set limits at your end, you were not discouraged to introduce innovations and come up with new strategies which fueled your initiatives and effort to achieve the goal.

Those limitations and hardships weren't considered a hindrance but rather a challenge in your quest in making things happen. Your continuing commitment to serve had always been your guiding principle in your daily chores of delivering public service and promoting public welfare. You always have the conviction that what is necessary must be done.

The opportune time for which you were sworn in to serve will legally end. The achievements and accomplishments  for the benefits of your constituents have been  the primary goal of your commitment to serve. Perhaps, the time also for the people to judge. Whatever their judgment may be, you will leave the portals of the Municipal Hall with a light heart and sense of fulfillment because we believe, with all confidence and conviction, you did make a difference!

I will be forever grateful for all the wonderful opportunity you have given me.

Thank you gorgeous!
God Bless You always :)

no labels

The national and local elections are done. The winners have been proclaimed. Now, the importance of continuity of local governance is everybody’s major concern. Executive Order tells that it is imperative for all the local government to prepare for an effective turn-over to the incoming officials before June 30.   And since you belong to the planning department there are a lot of things that needs to achieve and done before this governance transition.  Although you are halfway of preparing it, still, the demands and stress are rising and overflowing. You don’t feel like opening your cp and emails and pick up the phone. That you don’t like to glimpse even the color of your office building and the whole thing inside your administrative center and that of your workplace counter and you hate your uniform.  Just in a moment when you come across at the clock….. it’s time to go home. You are thrilled and the only thing that comes in your brain is to sleep however when you open the door the new color of your home resembles that of the LGU.
this is the office color
this is the new home color......
think of how can you relax over this color....when you open your eyes you get to see the same environment! including that of the lights and emergency light!

kong pobre ka

Poverty is a major concern in all levels of society both locally and internationally.  Different types of poverty require different means to address them and they all need to be tackled simultaneously. But can one really talk about it when you’ve never felt the pains of real hunger? Often times i ask myself am i really aware of the real truth? i doubted myself if im living real or was it all in my wide imagination. Survey shows that many are dying of disease and starvation each and every day. As I often read and watch on TV many of them habitually blame their poverty in the government. That it was because of the unfair justice we have, but was it really the government who made their lives miserable or was it because of the poor choices they've made in life? Although i didn't mean to say or put aside that the government isn't part of how good or bad we live but don't you think it was the government alone? I wasn't born with a silver spoon nor did my mom and aboeji nor aboeji's aboji or mom's mom either. But they strive hard and we strive hard to have a great or better future. I grew up watching mom and aboeji live for work and only come home on weekend. I seldom saw mom and aboeji resting when I was young. Thus, I conclude that laziness or just plain foolishness is one of the reason why they’re living like that and no one to blame but themselves.

Being part of the planning department our office often provides information and data on the different aspects, situations, and conditions of poverty. We have this system that calculates them electronically. All we have to do is to hire evaluators, provide them with the gadgets that would certainly help them get accurate information and transfer them in our machine. And if we’re not satisfied with the result we do it firsthand. Thus, our department often provides an accurate look of the poverty situation in our respective backyards and also, and more importantly, we map out appropriate, concrete, and timely interventions to alleviate the plight of our less fortunate brothers and sisters.

Yesterday we facilitated poverty reduction action planning workshop for 2014 bottom-up budgeting. Yes, although it is only 2013 we have to submit to the national government the anti poverty programs and projects we foresee beneficial for the next year. Poverty programs is just a portion of the real annual budget. The early initiation of the bottom-up planning process will ensure that the needs of the poor constituents will be adequately funded in the 2014 budget. Something like that I wont tell you much about that because it is a high profile project. :) what had happened yesterday is what we are rushing today for final submission next week. we've been at the site at 7:30 and the workshop started before 8:00. we are strict on time and we never failed to do it every workshops. and it has been our signature that no matter how tough the activity was we make sure to take all the lighter part so that our participants will not be bored to death and us too. so to make the workshop that easy our team leader ask the question if you have 28 million today what are you going to do with the anti poverty program? that questions rocks and we really think about it.

as far as the workshop go we choose every projects that are foreseen to give positive results. we do consolidation and randomly checked if it is within the budget cap. And luckily after long deliberations we've come up with outstanding result.

the crazy me wont tell you the outstanding results of course but will give you crazy details of what can be their final choice if this budget thing wasn't for the poor but for our own consumption. imagine all 28 million like that! how are you going to spend them all?  the following pictures will tell you their answers and here are my top pick.
